At one time or another, each cat has an arc of vomiting or diarrhoea. Usually, they have eaten something uncomfortable, eaten too much or too fast, are too tense or nervous, have hairballs, or their bodies react to some of a number of other non-serious conditions. If your cat shows no other signs of illness, you may not visit the vet if you wait 12 hours and do the following:
Remove all food and water so that the irritated intestinal tract can settle. Nothing makes a cat vomit more than eating a big meal or drinking a lot of water. You can allow the cat to drink very small amounts and in this short period of time, if your cat is healthy, you do not have to worry about dehydration. If diarrhea disappears after 24 hours, you can give your cat very small amounts of mixed food, such as a drained or cooked burger or chicken mixed with so much cooked rice.
